The Journey

From Family Workshops to International Markets

Since 1966

Family Rug Heritage

Haj Heydar Rangraz began traditional dyeing and weaving work in Aligudarz and Khansar in 1966. The workshop knowledge continued through the next generation and became Hamed Khodabakhshi’s direct connection to Persian carpet heritage. This heritage is presented as a documented family connection—not as a claim that every carpet sold came from those workshops. It explains the practical vocabulary of colour, wool, weaving discipline and regional identity that shaped his understanding from childhood.

Professional Management

Industrial Leadership

His professional record includes management roles at Sarooj Beton and Azma Beton factories, where he gained experience in organisation, production and commercial operations. Managing industrial production required planning, quality control, supplier coordination, contractual discipline and responsibility for commercial outcomes. Those transferable skills now support the careful assessment, documentation and international handling of valuable Persian carpets.

2019–2024

International Trade and HIXEN

From 2019 he worked across import, export, commercial negotiation, logistics and cross-border machinery trade. From 2020 to 2024 he imported heavy road-building and construction machinery and represented HIXEN Machinery exclusively in Iran. That work developed practical judgement in B2B negotiation, payment and contract coordination, freight planning, customs documentation and communication between Iranian suppliers and overseas counterparties.

2025–Today

Persian Carpet One

He redirected his international experience towards the art and trade of Persian hand-knotted carpets, establishing Persian Carpet One as a bridge between Iranian heritage and the global market. The house combines this operational experience with carpet research and direct responsibility for what is presented to clients. Its purpose is to make the identity, construction and journey of authentic Persian hand-knotted carpets clearer to international buyers.

From Selection to Delivery

Choosing an exceptional Persian rug is a personal decision, and we believe the experience should feel considered, effortless and entirely trustworthy.

At Persian Carpet One, we remain closely involved throughout the process. From helping you select the right carpet and understand its origin, materials and craftsmanship, to preparing the necessary documentation, professional packaging and international shipping, every detail is handled with care.

Our responsibility does not end with the selection of a carpet. We stay with you until it reaches its destination safely and exactly as expected.

Each piece represents a part of Persian artistic heritage, and we believe its journey should be managed with the same respect, precision and attention that went into its creation.

For international collectors, interior designers and private buyers, selecting an authentic hand-knotted Persian rug also means understanding the details that give each piece its identity and lasting value. We consider provenance, weaving region, knot structure, pile and foundation materials, natural or traditional dye character, design language, condition and overall craftsmanship so that the carpet can be appreciated not only as an interior object, but as a documented work of Persian textile art.

For clients purchasing Persian carpets from abroad, clear communication and dependable export handling are equally important. Persian Carpet One supports international buyers with careful product information, secure professional packing, shipping coordination and practical guidance before dispatch. Whether the destination is a private residence, design project, gallery or collection, our aim is to make the purchase of fine Persian carpets transparent, personal and reliable from Iran to the final destination.

From your first selection to final delivery, we are personally beside you at every stage.

Research & Authorship

Documenting Persian Carpet Knowledge for an International Audience

Hamed Khodabakhshi researches and writes about regional Persian carpet traditions, traditional hand-knotting and weaving, raw materials, dyeing, design, the skills of weavers, authenticity assessment and the cultural heritage of Iranian carpet making.

His articles bring together family knowledge of traditional production, focused study and practical experience in international business. The aim is to develop www.persiancarpet1.com as a trustworthy international reference for understanding Persian hand-knotted carpets.

Persian Carpet One was created from the meeting of family heritage, knowledge of Iranian traditional art and global trade experience. Its mission is to connect collectors, designers and institutions with Persian carpets selected for authenticity, weaving quality, artistic character, cultural background and enduring value.

Working Principles

How the Work Is Approached

Family Knowledge

A living connection to the family’s traditional dyeing, hand-knotting and workshop culture in Aligudarz and Khansar since 1966. Family memory is treated as a starting point for informed study: materials, colour preparation, knotting, workshop practice and the regional character of Persian carpet making are examined with respect for the people who preserve them.

Documented Research

Clear, source-aware writing that distinguishes evidence, informed attribution and market terminology. Articles distinguish verifiable facts from attribution, market convention and informed interpretation. Technical subjects—including foundation, knot structure, pile, dyes, condition and restoration—are explained without reducing quality to a single number or sales claim.

International Perspective

Practical experience in negotiation, logistics, imports, exports and cross-border commercial relationships. Experience in international business informs realistic communication about documentation, packing, logistics, customs procedures and the responsibilities of both parties. It also supports clear service for private clients, designers, galleries and professional buyers.

Responsible Selection

Attention to authenticity, construction, artistic identity, provenance, condition and long-term cultural value. Selection considers origin, materials, foundation, knotting, design, colour, condition, repairs and overall artistic coherence. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, it should be described transparently rather than presented as certainty.
